Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that can save you some trouble and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Ballwin and St. Charles and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried. - Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency. - Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it operating at top efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to arrange your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 636-206-4250.
